Bringing a piece of home and laughter is the goal of Vegas based comedian Don Barnhart as he produces and performs in The All Star Comedy Show For The Troops.
- (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2015 - Award winning comedian and producer Don Barnhart is currently on a world tour bringing comedy and laugher to the troops stationed around the world. Despite the current turmoil and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East The Don Barnhart Comedy All Stars has once again rallied up to bring shows to the men and women serving in the military overseas.
"If Bob Hope can do it, then so can we," said Don Barnhart. "It's important to let the men and women serving in the Armed Forces know that they are appreciated and not forgotten". Barnhart added, "We've been to war zones and if anyone needs to laugh, it's the men and women putting their life on the line on a daily basis".
Barnhart, a regular headline act in Vegas and at the top comedy clubs across the country can be heard on XM/Sirius Satellite radio and Murray Valeriano from Off The Cuff with Bill Engvall gave a nice shout out to Don and his team. Murray was originally scheduled to join Barnhart's team but had to reschedule due to other obligations.
Working with Armed Forces Entertainment, the Don Barnhart Comedy All Star team is a hand picked group of some of the funniest comedians working today and Barnhart truly knows what will work as has been producing and performing comedy shows for the troops since 1992 when he toured and help select comedians for the USO's Comedy Break Series.
Barnhart has also produced a Celebrity Series For The Troops sending out Comedy Legend and The New Mr. Las Vegas George Wallace as well as American Idol Season X finalist James Durbin.
As for the producer, Don Barnhart stars in the documentary, Finding The Funny with Brad Garret and Louie Anderson and is currently in preproduction on the new comedy film, The Freeloader, which he wrote and stars in. The movie is inspired by his numerous tours for the troops and is the story of a returning Veteran who becomes the Robin Hood of The Homeless.
The Las Vegas Review/Journal named Barnhart's show one of their "Best Bets" and he just finished headlining the 2014 Laughlin Comedy Festival alongside Larry The Cable Guy, Dana Carvey and Maryellen Hooper. Don is the author of two books, Comedy 101 and Creating The Life You Desire. He is also a contributing author on I Killed: True Stories of The Road by America's Top Comics.
Don Barnhart is is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory in Los Angeles and is a certified hypnotist performing both a stand up and comedy hypnosis show and in his off time, he teaches stand up comedy and improv at his studio in Las Vegas. Danny Villalpando has been performing for the troops for years in between headlining the top comedy clubs across the United States and has been seen on NBC's Friday Night, CBS's Funny Is Funny, The Latino Laugh Festival and Comedy Central. He's also a graduate of the world famous Second City Conservatory in Los Angeles and is a regular on all the comedy channels on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio.
Michael Finney is a double threat as both comedian and magician. In 2009 he was The World Comedy Magic Act of the Year and Finney has appeared on numerous TV shows including two NBC TV Specials: The World's Greatest Magic and The World's Wildest Magic. Michael has the distinct pleasure of being crowned The Academy of Magical Arts' Comedy Magician of the year as well as Parlor Magician of the Year and if that weren't enough, Finney was voted by his peers as one of the World's Top 10 Comedy Magic Acts performing today! He just appeared on two episodes of Masters of Illusions on the CW channel.
What Barnhart hopes to gain from entertaining the troops is the chance to meet as many people as possible, make them laugh a little and bring a taste of home and the Aloha spirit to the men and women serving in the armed forces. "I always look at comedy as a sort of pressure release valve," says Barnhart. "It allows you let off a little steam and you can get through the day no matter how tough things may be."
Barnhart has plans to shoot his comedy special, The DeEvolution of Man later this year and turn it into a one-man show with dates already coming in.
