Demas Capital Markets AG, a Swiss finance and investment house established in 1985, today confirmed the launch of a new venture capital division, Demas Capital Partners.

Rather than providing investors with exposure to the asset class through conventional managed fund structures, Demas offers its clients the opportunity to co-invest in non-publically traded equity on a company-by-company basis, whilst it handles the complex and time consuming operational elements of the venture capital investment process. In essence, Demas Capital Partners' objective is to provide a service resembling a share trading account with a broker, but with private companies instead of public ones.
Unless you happen to be fortunate enough to have gone to college with Mark Zuckerberg or lived next door to Sergey Brin or Larry Page, the expertise, financial and time resources required to be a successful venture capitalist have discouraged the majority of investors from getting involved. Demas Capital Partners was established in order to break down these barriers and bring the asset class to a wider investor audience.
