  • (1888PressRelease) June 15, 2018 - Campus Consortium, the largest global education association of schools, colleges and universities, awards Edward Waters College (EWC) a $91,500 Grant to help fulfil a Single Sign-On & Identity solution for students and faculty. Located on the Kings Road corridor, in close proximity to downtown Jacksonville, FL, Edward Waters College is a private, historically black college whose future is lined with pride, growth, and success. Founded in 1866, it is the oldest private institution of higher education in the state of Florida. The College’s current enrollment is 839 students, with approximately 51% of the student body is male, 49% female, and over 90% of the students rely on financial aid.

A relief for students, the single sign-on platform will ease the task of remembering countless logins and passwords. The grant covers 100% of the authorizing costs related with implementing a single sign-on and identity solution.

“We believe single sign-on not only improves security and reduces IT help desk traffic, it is also a tool that our students look forward to having on campus. We have umpteen platforms that all require a password for security reasons be it library archives, student accounts, an on-campus job board, learning management systems, student email, etc. We are glad this grant has come our way and our students will not get stuck either creating the same password for every application which creates a huge security risk, or stuck trying to remember their 10 different passwords and logins. By implementing single sign-on human error will be removed, student satisfaction will increase, and security will get tightened too”, said Dr. Nathaniel Glover, President at Edward Waters College.

Edward Waters College will use the grant to acquire the QuickLaunch® software, that will enable them with single sign-on to enterprise applications including Moodle®, O365®, Gmail® and PowerCampus®.

“We at Campus Consortium are glad to award this Grant to Edward Waters College. We are sure by implementing single sign-on, our technology partner will make a significant difference to student and faculty experience, along with strengthening security parameters”, states Anjli Jain, Chairman of the Campus Consortium.
