Delcam to show CADCAM power and precision at SEMA
Delcam will demonstrate the power and precision of its range of design and manufacturing software at the SEMA Show to be held in Las Vegas from 1st to 4th November.

The software has helped to make MBE a trusted choice for leading race teams and engine builders throughout the United States, Australia and Canada. Customers include teams from dirt racing and drag racing, as well as competitors in tractor- and truck-pulling events.
MBE’s head programmer Mark Olson admitted, "It amazes me what the Delcam programs can do. I’ve used a lot of programs in my career (which began in 1970) and this is the smartest software that I’ve ever used. PowerSHAPE has a great, powerful surfacing engine. I haven’t yet found anything as good as PowerSHAPE to manipulate surface data into exactly the shapes that I need.”
"PowerMILL has a very powerful automatic porting routine,” Mr. Olson said. "This was one of the major reasons why we purchased it.” Despite clearances as little as 15/1000ths of an inch, Mr. Olson says he’s never had any interference or a collision using PowerMILL. "No matter how complex the shape, I can be confident it will cut the port right first time,” he claimed.
While PowerMILL has proved popular with engine manufacturers, companies manufacturing aftermarket parts tend to prefer Delcam’s FeatureCAM feature-based machining software. They find the speed and ease-of-use of the system ideal for experimenting with new ideas and then producing parts once they have settled on the design.
Jeremy Cupp, owner of LC Fabrications, a custom bike builder in Virginia, likes being able to visualize how parts will look on the software. "It saves a lot of expense compared with spending half a day making the part and throwing it in the trash can if I don’t like the way it turns out,” he said during his Delcam.tv interview, located at www.delcam.tv\lcfabrications.
"FeatureCAM drastically reduces the amount of time it takes to make a part,” he added. "I can usually go from a concept to a finished part in an afternoon instead of taking several days. It means I can produce designs that I could only dream about before.”
