Deborah Crooks Releases New Video For Her Song "Let's Move"
Bay Area songwriter Deborah Crooks has released a new music video for her Americana-infused pop song 'Let's Move.'
- (1888PressRelease) November 11, 2011 - Oakland, CA - Filmed, directed and edited by Sarah Fisher of Blue Lotus Films in Oakland in September, and edited amid the recent Occupy protests, Crooks and Fisher sought to highlight the need for consciously inspired action in a time of upheaval. The result is a piece informed by the recent Occupy Oakland and Occupy Wall Street movements and Crooks' studies of Ashtanga Yoga and Buddhism. The video features Crooks as well as members of her band and yoga community.
The song was written by Deborah Crooks and co-produced by Oakland producer and bassist Ben Bernstein for her latest full-length CD "2010." The video is available on YouTube at http://youtu.be/3U7rdTB0qn8

About Deborah Crooks
Bay Area songwriter Deborah Crooks writes lyric-driven and soul-wise music drawing on folk, rock, Americana and the blues. Often compared to Lucinda Williams, Kathleen Edwards and The Cowboy Junkies, The East Bay Express described her "2010" recording as "...a more diverse take on Americana with a distinctly female tone, and quite charming." A published essayist and poet as well as a songwriter and performer, Crooks frequently collaborates in the studio and onstage. She's released two full-length Cds, "2010" and "Adding Water to the Ashes" (2008) and a blues EP with Alex Walsh, toured the North and Southwest, and spoken about creativity and music at both MacWorld and the SXSW Music Conference. http://onesheet.com/deborahcrooks/
