  • (1888PressRelease) April 08, 2011 - TORONTO - Deborah Carraro, or iDeborah as she's known on Twitter and many other social media sites, is keen to be a part of Team Sheen. Unlike other applicants who have admitted they applied for the position on a whim or as a joke, iDeborah was serious about her intent to become Charlie Sheen's intern from the get go.

"Who wouldn't want the opportunity to work with a professional PR team and be on the cutting edge of what's happening in the social sphere?" Carraro said, "Whatever people may think of Charlie Sheen, it can't be denied that he's doing some very interesting things with social media and the brand that is Charlie Sheen."

Carraro lives in Toronto and runs her own virtual business. A social media fan and self-proclaimed twaddict, she was among the first 300 followers of Sheen's record-breaking Twitter account.

"I sat on his profile page for a good ten minutes and hit refresh several times," Carraro admits, "his follower count was doubling by the minute. I'd never seen anything like it!"

And neither had Guinness. Sheen recently set the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to reach one million followers on Twitter.

On March 7th, Sheen tweeted that he was looking to hire a social media intern and Carraro immediately applied for the position. She's now eagerly awaiting news on whether she's made the final shortlist of candidates.

"To have come this far is exciting," Carraro says, "After all, there were over 80,000 applicants and while I don't know exactly how many made it through to Round 3, the rumors are that anywhere between 200 and 500 people made it this far."

Round 3 asked applicants to answer one of three questions in a video of two minutes or less and uploaded to YouTube.

Carraro chose to tackle the question of what she'd do to create awareness and raise money via social media in the aftermath of a global disaster in her video posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN-C5LpnvjE

It's unclear when the final short list will be announced but Carraro remains optimistic. "My family, friends and tweeps are anxiously awaiting news," Carraro says, "I'd love to meet the team behind Team Sheen as well as Charlie Sheen himself. Duh, who wouldn't?"
