DealsMagazine.com Nominated for Multiple Web Awards
DealsMagazine.com recommended to win 2012 Moxie Awards and Chicago Innovation Awards.
- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) May 23, 2012 - DealsMagazine.com, the first deal site to offer user-customized shopping areas and a print edition, proudly announces its nomination for a Moxie Award and a Chicago Innovation Award.
"We are honored to have our hard work recognized by groups that celebrate the innovation of Chicagoland businesses," said Deals Magazine Online Marketing Director Dante A. Monteverde. "Our team has worked tirelessly to create a website that is mutually beneficial for subscribers and local businesses. We're proud to offer a sustainable relationship between vendors and targeted subscribers.
"These nominations help us continue the precedent we set with our first major acknowledgment - Best Overall Website from Chicago Interactive Marketing. These recognitions help us grow our business and add unparalleled value to our subscribers and the vendors we represent."
The first annual Moxie Awards will be held June 21, 2012, to honor Chicago's most innovative digital entrepreneurs. Deals Magazine has been nominated in these categories: Best B2B Startup, Mobile App of the Year, Best Mentor of the Year, Best Consumer Web Startup and Best New Startup.
Deals Magazine also hopes to be selected as a Chicago Innovation Award recipient. If awarded, Deals Magazine will be honored as one of 10 businesses that have filled unmet needs and have made a significant contribution to the marketplace. This year's awardees will be placed in the same category as past winners like Motorola, Sara Lee, Walgreens, Abbot Laboratories and others.
"Groupon, a past winner in our industry, paved the way for deal websites, but we've drastically changed the business model," said Monteverde. "We not only offer patent-pending software that allows subscribers to customize their shopping area and gives vendors the most targeted buyer available, but we also use time-release software that distributes deals to small groups at a time, rather than one large email blast that can overwhelm small businesses. All of our efforts are to encourage a long-term vendor-subscriber relationship, not a one-time encounter."
Deals Magazine was also nominated for both awards based on its green initiatives.
"Our referral program is not only the most lucrative one on the market, but also the greenest," said Monteverde. "We plant 20 trees in a subscriber's honor when they refer 10 buyers over the course of one year. We also replace trees for each issue of our print magazine, work in an Energy Star rated building and use a fleet of hybrid cars to travel between events and our mall kiosks located throughout Chicagoland."
