  • (1888PressRelease) February 17, 2017 - Stuart Warriner has joined the board, led by Card Factory founder Dean Hoyle, as a non-executive director.

He spent 30 years at PwC, which included ten years at the helm of its corporate finance team in the North of England.

Hoyle joined the private equity-backed retailer as chairman and investor in 2015. James Woolley, portfolio partner at Endless, and Card Factory property director Tony Barraclough are also on the board.

Hoyle said: "Stuart is a highly respected corporate finance specialist. His decision to join The Works is a real coup for us and is testament to the strength and continued growth potential of this business.

"Stuart brings new expertise to an already strong board and will help us continue to explore new opportunities for the fantastic business that the executive team has built over the last decade. I'm looking forward to working with him to take The Works from strength to strength."

Warriner added: "Just one month after retiring from a 30-year career at PWC, the offer to join the board of The Works proved too good an opportunity to miss and I was forced to abandon my plans for a few months' rest."
