Deakin University Australia ties-up with ITM Group for MBA program
Deakin University of Australia signed a memorandum of understanding with Mumbai-based ITM Group in presence of Honourable Mr. Chris Evans, The Australian minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and workplace relations.
- Indianapolis, IN (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2011 - The MoU was signed by Deakin's Vice Chancellor Prof. Jane Den Hollander and ITM's Founder Chairman, Dr. P.V. Ramana in Delhi on Tuesday, 2 August 2011. The understanding involves co-development of short term management programs, course credit transfer and exchange of students and faculty.
Prof. Jane Den Hollander, Vice Chancellor of Deakin University, said that Deakin has been named University of the Year twice in Australia, receiving accolades for innovative use of technology in teaching and learning, and education and training partnerships. She called for deeper partnership in curriculum development and mobility of faculty and students.
According to Dr P V Ramana, Chairman, ITM Group, the relationship with Deakin will start with a 2-year international MBA program in which the first year syllabus would be covered at ITM campuses in India and the second year instructions would be provided online by Deakin. "I believe this is the first agreement of its type between any Indian business school and an Australian University.
Ms. Ravneet Pawha, Country Director - India, Deakin University Australia said that such partnerships would be instrumental in providing a platform for better understanding of each other's education system and enhances curriculum development at both ends.
