A CHECK constraint is a type of integrity constraints in SQL which allows users to specify a condition on each row in a table. It is used to limit the value range that can be placed in a column. The constraint must be a predicate and can refer to a single column, or multiple columns of a table. For a long time it was not available for developers and DBAs working with MySQL databases. Right until the latest 8.0.16 version of MySQL server where the long-awaited feature was introduced.
