David R. Brown, Georgia author, attributes his newly released novel, 'The Bet', to his love of the low country.
Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) August 24, 2012 - Author David R. Brown is a Marietta, GA, native but grew up spending several weeks each year with his family vacationing on Jekyll Island, Georgia. Drawing on those experiences, and from those of his 15+ years in the financial arena, he has released his debut novel, 'The Bet', a thriller/suspense tale describing a down and out accountant who returns to his roots in coastal Georgia to be near his aging grandfather.
Encountering a stranger who offers to bet ten million dollars against all he holds dear, the young accountant embarks on an odyssey across the state of Georgia that will forever change the way he views love, life, friendship and the power of money.
'The Bet' currently enjoys a five star rating on Amazon and was featured as a coming attraction on Media Bistro's Galleycat. The story is poignantly descriptive of the Georgia low country that Brown so fondly remembers from his early years, but is at the same time a seat of your pants, wild, page turning ride that leaves readers begging for more.
Mr. Brown lives with his wife, two of their five children and four cats in Marietta, GA. He is currently working on his second novel which is due for release in October, 2013, and is available for interviews and book signings through his website at http://www.readdavidrbrown.com.
