Improvements in Version 4.5 include support for Outlook 2013 OST files. Features not found in competitive data recovery products include support for Exchange Server 2013 and Outlook 2013, the ability to recover and split oversized OST files, batch recovery processing, the ability to search for OST files on the local PC, and drag and drop operations.
Microsoft Exchange Server is a messaging and collaborative software powerhouse that is widely used by corporations, nonprofits, and other large enterprises. OST files are offline copies of the Exchange Server mailbox. If a hardware crash or a software glitch cause the server or the mailbox to fail, the OST file is orphaned and cannot be opened. Similarly, corrupt or damaged OST files cannot be accessed.
