The FIVE STAR award is the only one of its kind that incorporates both client and industry professional evaluations. It is an exclusive award given to only 3 percent of over 15,000 wealth managers in the San Antonio, Austin and Central Texas areas. The 2010 list will be published in the September issue of Texas Monthly for the Austin/San Antonio community.
According to www.fivestarprofessional.com, The FIVE STAR Award is awarded by Crescendo Business Services and surveyed by QMI Research, an independent third party, which helps assist consumers in selecting wealth managers based on nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale services, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction. The survey, conducted by phone and mail, is sent to over 80,000 high net-worth households with an additional 4,350 surveys going to financial services industry professionals. Each wealth manager is then reviewed for any regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) and other regulatory agencies. Finally, it is reviewed by a blue ribbon panel comprised of knowledgeable individuals from within the financial services industry.
