Dallas Attorney Mark Shank Named Among Nation's Top 100 Employment Lawyers
Mark Shank, an attorney with the Dallas law firm of Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail LLP, is one of only four lawyers in Texas to be named among the top 100 employment lawyers in the United States.
- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2010 - Mark A. Shank, a partner in the Dallas litigation firm of Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail, LLP, has earned selection as one of the nation's "Most Powerful Employment Attorneys" by the editors of Human Resources Executive magazine.
Mr. Shank is the only Dallas attorney and one of only four from Texas listed among the Top 100. Human Resources Executive is considered the nation's premier publication focused on strategic issues in HR, with more than 75,000 print subscribers.
The Top 100 list, now in its third year, was developed through more than 2,500 nominations submitted by the magazine's readers in addition to the publication's own research. The final list was determined after confidential interviews with corporate counsel and other attorneys, and is published in partnership with Lawdragon, an online legal news and networking service.
"It's a great honor to be recognized by colleagues and included among some of the best attorneys at some of the largest firms in the nation," says Mr. Shank. "As much as any area of the law, employment attorneys are challenged to see beyond the issues a company might face today, prepare them for the future and represent them when disputes arise. It's an important and gratifying role."
Mr. Shank currently serves as a member of the Civil Trial Law Exam Commission of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and Chair of the Dallas Bar Foundation Board. He has been named to the American College of Labor Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates, and has earned numerous awards for his community service and professional achievements.
Mr. Shank earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University. He also holds a Master of Laws degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
Mr. Shank represents clients in business and litigation matters in employment law including contract claims, potential officer and director liability, employment discrimination, wage and hour disputes, executive compensation and retaliation cases. He also has experience with disputes involving covenants not to compete, confidentiality and trade secrets.
