Cypress Community Services of Lexington, KY is currently accepting referrals for Supports for Community Living (SCL) Waiver for our Residential and Adult Day Training (ADT) Programs as well as Michelle P Waiver clients.
- Lexington, KY (1888PressRelease) July 10, 2010 - Cypress Community Services, a Supports for Community Living (SCL) and Michelle P Provider based in Lexington, KY, opened its doors in November of 2008. Cypress presently has an Adult Day Training Program and a beautiful home located off Clays Mill in a newer neighborhood. The residential home has three bedrooms, two baths, a two car garage, a huge deck, good sized yard and a garden where the consumers are growing tomatoes, cucumbers, banana peppers, corn, carrots and an assortment of plants and flowers.
The goal at Cypress is to simply have the best SCL program in the state of Kentucky and they feel they can accomplish this goal by putting the individual first. Currently Cypress is accepting referrals for their Residential and Adult Day Training Programs through the Supports for Community Living (SCL) and Michelle P. Waivers, with special considerations given to medically fragile individuals.
Cypress is lead by Executive Director/Owner Kim Gibson who has over nine years experience as an ED and has successfully managed CAKY Frankfort and Harmony Care, also of Frankfort.
Cypress Community Services describes itself as a "soft" program that strives to make compatible relationships a cornerstone of their Residential Program and stresses comfort and easy participation through their Adult Day Training Program.

Supports for Community Living Waiver (SCL)
The SCL Program is a community based program under Kentucky's Medicaid program and was developed for residents as an alternative to institutional care for persons with mental retardation or developmental disabilities. SCL allows people to remain in or return to their community.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements for the SCL Program, we strive to assist all consumers in becoming happier and more productive. We continue to explore additional opportunities to enhance the lives of consumers we serve.
Michelle P. Waiver
The Michelle P. Waiver (MPW) is a home and community-based waiver under the Kentucky Medicaid program developed as an alternative to institutional care for individuals with mental retardation or developmental disabilities. MPW allows individuals to remain in their homes with services and supports.
