CMMI Level 5 is the highest level of recognition in the CMMI appraisal program and is one of the most sought after accreditations by organizations in the business services industry.

CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Maturity Level 5 is the highest level of process maturity that independently verifies an organization's capabilities to continuously enhance its processes through incremental and innovative process and technological improvements. The CMMI approach was developed by The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, United States.
The framework acts as a guide to improve processes of a single project or across an entire organization. It helps with the integration of separate organizational functions and assists businesses in setting process improvement goals. The model measures business process maturity levels and provides customers with a way to assess risks and determine the level of process maturity a company has achieved.
The CMMI framework includes five distinct levels of maturity, Level 1 being the lowest and level 5 being the highest. Achieving CMMI Level 5 helps companies reduce risks in projects by making it easier to predict cost, schedule, performance and quality of products. Version 1.3 of CMMI standard provides a higher level of focus on aligning software engineering processes and improvement plans to project and client goals.
