CyberVision announces a new release of Kaa open-source platform for the IoT - Kaa 0.6.1, which dramatically increased the power of its data collection functionality and ability to quickly integrate Kaa with virtually any data storage and analytics systems.
- (1888PressRelease) December 06, 2014 - We are pleased to announce a new release of Kaa 0.6.1!
This release has dramatically increased the power of Kaa's data collection functionality and ability to quickly integrate Kaa with virtually any data storage and analytics systems. More specifically, the Kaa logging subsystem was enhanced with a log appenders framework that facilitates integration and data exchange between Kaa and data storage and processing systems, such as MongoDB, CDAP, Hadoop, Oracle NoSQL, etc. Several pre-packaged log appenders are currently available for Kaa and, as of this release, it is possible to create custom log appenders for any data processing system and storage repository.
We have made a number of enhancements to the C endpoint SDK and improved the Kaa event subsystem with the capability to broadcast events to corresponding endpoints. Broadcasting events significantly reduces the data channel load and improves the overall performance of the Kaa deployment.
We have substantially overhauled and expanded Kaa's online documentation and added new informational references, such as the Admin UI guide, several pages in the Programming guide, style guides in the Contribute to Kaa section and the Logging page in Design reference.
We have identified and resolved a number of bugs. The full list of new features and bug fixes can be found at the What's new page.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions with us on the Kaa forum. We welcome your ideas and want to know what you'd like to see in upcoming releases of Kaa.
