The project involves installing 7-mil clear security film as daylight application on all of the windows of the twin 10-story buildings, known as Rockledge 1 & 2. In total, Commercial Window Shield will install 75,338 sq. ft of shatter resistant film on 2,890 window panes.

Harvey-Cleary is in the midst of a complete renovation of both buildings. In the meantime, NIH employees have been moved to other locations.

Earlier this year, in a Phase 1 project, Harvey-Cleary hired Commercial Window Shield to install privacy/decorative film on demountable partition glass at all offices and conference rooms in both buildings. In total, Commercial Window Shield installed more than 20,000 sq. ft. of privacy film to complete that project.

Phase 2, security window film installation, will begin in September.

The company’s work can be found on government buildings all over the country, including the U.S. Capitol, all U.S. House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Veterans Administration and Energy Department headquarters, FBI headquarters, Department of Labor headquarters, Grand Center Terminal, George Brown Convention Center in Houston, the Denver and Philadelphia mints, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the United Nations.
