- (1888PressRelease) May 22, 2012 - The 2nd Logistics West Africa Strategic Conference and Exhibition was announced earlier and will take place on Victoria Island, Lagos (Nigeria) at the Eko International Expo Centre, part of the Eko Hotel & Suites in November 5-7, 2012.
'Logistics West Africa is a platform for sharing innovative solutions and practices so companies can improve logistics, save time, save money and increase their profit. Therefore, encouraging West African companies to be more competitive and grow in the vibrant West African regional marketplace,' said the event's producer, Natalie Bacon. Logistics West Africa has been designed as a unique pan-regional event to bring together senior supply chain decision makers from across the region to collectively debate challenges, discuss and share their experiences of their logistics supply chain in West Africa.
Last month Valentine Rugwabiza, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) commented that it remains costly to trade with another African country, so West African countries trade with international partners who are usually further away, but are more competitive. The Logistics West Africa Strategic Summit & Exhibition will bring together the major industry stakeholders from Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, FMCG, Construction, Pharma, Mining and Agriculture with pan-West African trade bodies, government ministries and solution providers. The summit will highlight and identify some of the major logistical challenges in the region and start or continue to implement the solutions needed by private industry for business to excel. By improving all aspects of logistics in the region the event aims to keep West Africa moving and emerging as one of the world's largest regional trade hubs.
The strategic two-day conference will provide the ideal opportunity for discussion forums to solve topical industry challenges and fast track understanding of how to improve logistics supply chain management.
The Logistics West Africa exhibition is the largest logistics event of its kind in West Africa and brings exhibiting companies offering logistical solutions together with major private companies cross industry and across West Africa. There is no other platform where companies looking to expand their business in the region have the opportunity to showcase their products, services and solutions to 100's of senior delegates and 1000's of industry professionals under one roof in just two days.

Engr Ernest Nwapa, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board delivered an extensive presentation on Local Content and its implementation of the logistics operations in Nigeria.
