She will also chair the firm's newly reorganized Employment & Labor Law Group.
Ms. Growney concentrates her practice in all areas of employment and labor law. She represents employers and management in federal and state court litigation proceedings and before federal, state and local administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board.
She represents a variety of organizations and businesses on a broad range of employment and labor issues, including discrimination, wrongful discharge, wage and hour claims, leave issues under the Family Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, labor relations, and covenants not to compete. Ms. Growney has an extensive background in advising employers on preventative measures such as handbooks and policies, evaluations and job descriptions, discipline and discharge, legal compliance, employment contracts and unionization efforts.
Ms. Growney provides sexual harassment and management training for non-profit and for-profit businesses, municipalities, and public sector clients. She also represents and advises executives and other high-level employees in negotiating executive compensation packages and severance package agreements.
In addition to her practice, Ms. Growney has been a frequent lecturer on employment law topics, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Ms. Growney is a graduate of Rutgers College of Rutgers University and Villanova University School of Law. She has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® Rising Star in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 by Thomson Reuters, published annually in Philadelphia magazine. Ms. Growney has also been named a Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer in 2006 and served as an editorial board member of the paper's YL Supplement. Former president of the Korean American Lawyers Association of the Delaware Valley, Ms. Growney is fluent in Korean. She is also a member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
