Covington Who's Who Selects Yvonne Chandler Ludwig as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
The selection recognizes Yvonne Chandler Ludwig's commitment to excellence in Historical Research.
- San Antonio, TX (1888PressRelease) October 26, 2012 - Yvonne Chandler Ludwig, Owner of Lick Enterprises, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Ludwig, who holds an Associate's Degree in Business Administration through San Antonio College, is the owner, bookkeeper, salesperson, and sole employee of her organization, one that was inspired in 1978 after a man by the name of Ruben Tschirhart came to her home researching her husband's family history.
Conducting research for Historical Markers, and writing articles and books that she authors, Ludwig uses her husband's remarkable skills in map reading and ability to read old script to aid her. She relies on very accurate information, which she says can be detrimental if copied and recopied wrong, changing the legitimacy of history altogether.
"My husband has always been my inspiration," Ludwig said. "He is a dedicated historian who has researched his family to the 1600's, has a fantastic memory and the patience needed for deciphering. He is willing to walk cemeteries, travel the world for the research needed, and give time to whatever needs."
Ludwig hopes to continue in her research, maintain a few cemeteries, assemble past associates for lunches, and help those in need. She has worked as a worthy adviser for the Rainbow for Girls, a Masonic organization, as a bookkeeper, floral designer, special education and Sunday school teacher, and as president of the Charmin Society and corresponding secretary for the Purple Jackets. She also wrote and published an international newsletter for five years for Castro Colonies Heritage Association as their corresponding secretary, served as vice-president of the San Antonio Area School Archives Association, and as a travel guide for the San Antonio Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of numerous organizations, including the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Southwest Texas Genealogical Society, and Save Texas Cemeteries. Ludwig has also earned numerous awards over the years, including recognitions in newspapers for work, support, and donations for the Garden of Roots, as well as a Texas First Families Commemorative Certificate in 2001, a Citation for Outstanding Contributions through the Castroville Conservation Society in 2004, and a nomination for The Ruth Lester Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
