Covington Who's Who Selects Vivian Cardona as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes Vivian Cardona's commitment to excellence in Mental Health Counseling.
Cardona, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Gallaudet University (the only university for Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Washington, DC) and a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation and Administration from DePaul University, is a licensed clinical professional counselor who began working in the mental health field in 1989 and as a therapist in 2000. She earned her license in 2005.
Several years later, Cardona pursued her license and decided to give private practice a chance. Now the sole proprietor for her facility, she has gained a great deal of experience in the field as well as in her own establishment.
Inspired by persistence and a lot of patience, Cardona, who is Deaf, knows that a positive attitude is essential if she wants to be successful in her professional life. Although she faces more challenges and obstacles than most counselors in her field, she is confident in herself and her abilities.
"Sometimes it is a hard road but having a positive attitude is why I am here today," Cardona admits.
Cardona is a member of Illinois Counseling Association, Deaf Social Services Providers, and National Deaf Latino Association. She has been recognized as a speaker on mental health, deaf culture, domestic violence, and sexual abuse prevention.
