Covington Who's Who Selects Tracy Barry as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Tracy Barry, who holds a BA in English/Journalism and an MA in Secondary Education, both from the University of Arizona, has been a certified teacher through the state of Texas since 2004.
Beginning her career in education as a middle school English and journalism teacher in Phoenix, Arizona, Ms. Barry is now serving as an autism instructional specialist for Mesquite Independent School District. Responsible for designing and helping to implement instructional and behavioral strategies for classroom teachers to utilize with students with high-functioning autism in their regular and special education classrooms, she also gives parent and district trainings about autism in her district. The number of students on her caseload from 2008 to 2014 has increased from 76 to 236.
"I have a great desire to be challenged in my profession and am fascinated with the way children with autism learn and respond to their environments," Ms. Barry said. "I do a great deal of research and am continuously updating my knowledge database."
Noting that her parents and two sisters were also teachers, Ms. Barry said her professional goals include possibly writing a book where she can include all of her teaching strategies.
