Steven A. Vilardo, who earned a BA in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History from North Park College in 1995, decided to join the US Army in 1998 and pursue a career in the armed forces.
Sergeant First Class Steven Vilardo trains, mentors, develops, motivates, and provides guidance to soldiers so they can accomplish their missions and achieve success.
"I joined the army because I was in a dead-end job, had a college degree, and was in excellent physical condition," Mr. Vilardo said. "I thought to myself, 'How hard can it be?'. I then enlisted at the age of thirty."
Hoping to achieve the rank of Command Sergeant Major and also earn a master's degree to enhance his future in the armed forces and government, Mr. Vilardo is looking forward to a bright future and career. To date, he's earned two US Army Achievement Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, a Meritorious Service Medal, and three Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medals. He is certified in various disciplines within the military for performance in training, administration, personnel, resources, intelligence, and security.
