Covington Who's Who Selects Shlinda Armwood as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Offered a position as a project analyst in 2013, Shlinda Armwood was ecstatic to take on a job that would afford her the opportunity to work with disabled individuals. Helping them by providing home care assistance, her job is to coordinate data and other information in order to prepare internal and external reports from various departments in her organization. Staying abreast of all programs, such as Long Term Care, Community Choices Waiver, Adult Day Health Care, Nursing Home Placement, and PACE programs, Ms. Armwood utilizes ACS and DHH databases to input and update requestors and recipients' information.
"Working for an organization where my skills, education, and experience can be effectively utilized to improve operations and contribute to the company is what keeps me going," Ms. Armwood said. "I have an abundance of knowledge and ideas and am always eager to learn and try new things."
Remembering to keep God first, Ms. Armwood was taught by her parents that all obstacles and hardships can be overcome. She lives by the quote, "Knowledge is power", and works tirelessly to better her community, one patient at a time.
Ms. Armwood holds a BS in Therapeutic Recreation and a MA in Counselor Education. She plans to pursue her PhD in Business Administration in the near future. She earned an Employee of the Month nomination during her time working as a behavioral professional counselor at the Care Center and a second nomination for the Star of the Week at ACS/Zerox. She currently serves as the president of her church choir at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church. Future plans include opening up her own business someday, either a fitness center or her own boutique.
