Covington Who's Who Selects Sherry L. Breckenridge as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Breckenridge, District Parent Coordinator at Wynne School District, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Sherry L. Breckenridge's commitment to excellence in Education.
Breckenridge, who studied dental hygiene at Arkansas State University, is a certified paraprofessional through the state of Arkansas. She began working for Wynne School District fourteen years ago as a long-term substitute teacher. From there she served as an aide for an Algebra I class before obtaining her current title as a district parent coordinator in 2008.
In her current role, Breckenridge works with students' academic, social, and emotional needs and serves as a communication liaison between the school, home, and community. She works with families and students to help increase parental involvement in education in order to increase student achievement. She is also responsible along with other school personnel for implementing the state and federal parental involvement guidelines within the local district.
"I have always had a love for children," Breckenridge said. "I love my job and the involvement with families and leaders in our community and school district. I hope to see parental involvement grow and become the vital part of education that I envision and to help as many families with their needs as I can."
Breckenridge, the single parent of a son in the US Military, noted that it was through her son that she inherited a love for children and working with children and families.
Breckenridge serves on the board of directors for the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund and is co-chairman for the Wynne Bookcase Project. She served on the Middle Grades Initiative Review Committee for the Southern Regional Education Board, as co-coordinator for the Study Circles Educational Initiative, and as president of the local Parent Teacher Association and PTSA. She also served as guest speaker at the Seventh Annual Regional P-12 Social Studies and Science Conference. She is a current member of the Arkansas Parent Coordinator/Facilitator Association.
