Covington Who's Who Selects Shelley Johansen as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes Shelley Johansen's commitment to excellence in Healthcare and Hospice Care.
Shelley Johansen, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Rockford Business College, is a certified marketing professional in long-term care and healthcare marketing and communications who began working in the healthcare field in 1982 as a certified nurse's aide. Her career in healthcare marketing began two years later, in 1990, as a marketing coordinator for a nursing home in Rockford, Illinois.
Since that time, Shelley Johansen has since held the position of regional marketing director and senior regional marketing director for two separate organizations before taking on her current position as chief marketing officer with Passages Hospice, LLC in 2012.
Now overseeing the organization's marketing operations, palliative care program, and volunteer program, Ms. Johansen ensures departmental compliance in regard to policies and procedures and federal and state regulations, provides training and education to corporate marketing directors and regional marketing managers on staff, implements and executes educational programs for referral sources, plus a host of other responsibilities. She is also currently assisting in establishing and overseeing a hospice cardiac program.
"I have a need and passion to assure that elderly, end of life, and any other healthcare patient and family or loved ones are provided quality care at all stages of their illness," Ms. Johansen said about her decision to work in a hospice setting.
With aspirations of continuing to stay with Passages Hospice, Ms. Johansen plans to continue to develop and execute innovative end of life services that reach as many patients and families as possible. She also hopes to lead the best operating marketing team in the state of Illinois and surrounding states as a mentor in the field.
Ms. Johansen is the author of numerous publications to various journals, including: Choosing a Nursing Home, published in the Senior Life Newspaper; and Independence, Dignity, Assistance, published in the Greater Atlanta Senior Guide. She's been published throughout Indiana, Illinois, and Georgia. She's also received a Leadership of Rockford Award and a Leadership Spirit Award.
