Covington Who's Who Selects Sara E. Garringer as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Sara E. Garringer began working in human resources in 2004 at a local cleaning company, doing basic hiring, training, payroll, and other functions. By 2008, she had moved on to become an HR assistant with the District of Columbia Bar in Washington, DC, which was where her career really began to take flight. Blessed to have a wonderful mentor, Ms. Garringer was promoted twice, from HR coordinator to HR generalist. Recently, she left the Bar to work as the HR manager of La Tienda - The Best of Spain in Williamsburg, Virginia, supporting 50-plus employees and reporting directly to their CEO.
"I work with the CEO and management team of La Tienda to promote and implement HR policies, benefits, employee programs, compensation, talent management, and much more," Ms. Garringer explained. "I was very fortunate to have the DC Bar as my first big employer. They afforded me the opportunity to grow and learn under them.
Ms. Garringer is also the owner of her own HR consulting firm since 2012, Simply HR, LLC. She hopes to continue to grow her business as much as possible, but is also quite content being a successful HR manager for La Tienda.
A certified master facilitator, Ms. Garringer also has her Professional in Human Resources certification along with human resources management certification from George Mason University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, holds a BA in Human Resources Management, and plans to sit for her Senior Professional in Human Resources exam in the winter of 2014.
