Covington Who's Who Selects Sandy Jarvis as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Sandy Jarvis, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Willington College, initially joined the HIV/AIDS organization in 2003 to gain practical skills and experience needed for professional counseling. The organization has twelve neighborhood field operations in New York City.
As a case manager, Ms. Jarvis identifies client needs and resources, refers clients to community-based organizations for a range of critical services, such as drug treatments, therapy, and vocational services, and also conducts home visits and handles all transactions related to entitlements.
"I would like to earn a master's degree in forensic psychology, which would give me the opportunity to work in a variety of settings," Ms. Jarvis said. "Forensic psychology is rapidly growing, and the course of study would focus on major types of mental disorders, crisis intervention techniques, and abnormal behavior."
Having originally planned to become a writer, Ms. Jarvis wrote and published a collection of short stories, entitled 'Real Meaning of Christmas' in 1993, and published a children's novel, called 'King Maestro and Chuck', which is available through Barnes and Noble. Ms. Jarvis is currently publishing a second book, 'The Singing Train', through Outskirts Press, due out in the fall of 2013, and she is now working on an adult novel, 'Highway 54'. She is also the recipient of numerous awards for poetry, including the Editor's Choice Award.
