Covington Who's Who Selects Ruth L. Briscoe as an Executive Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Briscoe, who is certified in word and administration processing through Interface College, began working in 1996 for the Mann-Grandstaft Spokane VA as a laundry service worker/laundry machine operator. Ten years later, she had moved into housekeeping, but that only lasted a short time before she earned the opportunity to advance into her current position as a claims assistant.
In her current role, Ms. Briscoe handles everyday office duties, including mail sorting, bill scanning, scheduling of veterans for outside services, vendor and veteran relations, overseeing authorizations, and handling the accounts receivable side of funding for the organization. In addition to a host of other responsibilities, it is important to her that she is always capable of answering any questions that veterans or vendors may have, while also being polite, courteous, and attentive.
"Getting my foot in the door of the VA was just the first step at the very beginning of my career. Luckily, I was able to move within the departments to get where I am today," Ms. Briscoe said thankfully.
The US Army veteran spent four years serving her country. She is currently the secretary for the Union of Veterans Administration, spent five years as the president of the Morningside Partnership afterschool program, and is the recipient of a Good Conduct Medal, which she earned in the military.
