Covington Who's Who Selects Robert Arthur Barbeau as an Executive of the Year Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
Robert Arthur Barbeau, First Vice-President ABL at Community Bank, has been selected as an Executive Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Robert Arthur Barbeau's commitment to excellence in Finance and Banking.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) January 29, 2014 - Robert Arthur Barbeau, who first got started in 1972 at Wells Fargo Bank sorting mail, worked his way up and was given the opportunity to learn accounts receivable and inventory auditing. It was the beginning of a very rewarding career.
Now the First VP at Community Bank, Mr. Barbeau wears several hats. Supervising an experienced staff of eight, which includes three auditors, three collateral analysts, and two operational staff, they monitor collateral that secures loans. As a voting member of the bank's Senior Loan Committee, Mr. Barbeau also helps structure lines of credit with their relationship managers.
"Accounting experience is a must," Mr. Barbeau admits. "Good supervisor skills are also needed and internal bank classes that teach credit and cash flow are also an advantage in this line of work."
Mr. Barbeau has taught finance to MBA students at Pepperdine University and has also taught Asset Based Lending classes at Community Bank. He is an associate member of the Certified Fraud Examiners along with an active member with Southern California Audit Managers Association and The Commercial Finance Group.
Now, with over 35 years of experience in a specialized area of lending, Mr. Barbeau hopes to soon take on the role of Senior VP. He also wants to continue teaching finance courses at various universities and internal collateral classes with Community Bank.
