For the past twelve years, Pam Nagle has been working in the trade show industry. After managing trade shows for a local company, she started her own company in the spring of 2011.
Ms. Nagle's trade shows are centered on hunting, fishing, and archery. She handles the booth space rentals, show sponsorships and celebrity appearances, as well as day to day operations regarding designing and maintaining the website, ticket sales, and show operations. Within the Expo are a Big Buck Contest, Taxidermy Contest, and 3-D Archery Tournament that attract contestants from a four-state area.
"Sales and marketing take up most of your time, however, hiring celebrity guests and speakers for your event are very important," Ms. Nagle said. "You have to be very knowledgeable with regards to hunting industry, and what's new, popular, and informing."
With a background in interior design, Ms. Nagle is well versed in the design of floor plans and fine tuning the overall look of the show. Her look is not necessarily to have the biggest trade show, but certainly the best. She pays attention to the smallest of details and listens and responds to the vendors' feedback.
During her first year as an entrepreneur, Ms. Nagle's Shreveport Outdoor Hunters Expo was a huge success and was over capacity on opening night with over 10,000 attendees. Out of 15,000 tradeshows worldwide, the Shreveport hunting show was ranked number thirty-five and was listed in the top 100 worldwide for July 2012 by Biz Trade Shows.
