Covington Who's Who Selects Michelle A. Alden as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) August 14, 2014 - Michelle A. Alden, Primary Counselor at CJ Counseling, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Michelle A. Alden, who holds a BS in Psychology and Child Development from Florida State University and an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University, is currently working toward her PhD in Psychology from Capella University, and is expected to graduate in the fall of 2017.
Certified in anger management through the Association of Certified Anger Management Specialists, Ms. Alden has been working in community agencies and clinics since 2003 doing bio-psychosocial assessments and treatment plans, and conducting groups. She also did volunteer work while in school full-time for the Guardian Ad Litem in Florida and worked for the Redland Christian Migrant Association in Quincy, Florida.
Currently working for Gentia Behavioral Health as a primary counselor, Ms. Alden also does Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment (CCFA), Family Team Meetings (FTM), conducts counseling/parenting sessions, supervises visitations, and will be doing anger management and emotional intelligence groups for children and adolescents. She also provides e-counseling through live person experts and Theravive, which is another online referral service.
"My passion is in helping empower families to change maladaptive thoughts and behaviors in order to prevent negative patterns from continuing from generation to generation," Ms. Alden said. "My listening skills, genuineness, and skills I've learned all attribute to my success. The modification, the smile in others, is my reward."
Ms. Alden hopes to teach at the college level once she completes her PhD, but she plans to stay with Gentia for many more years and eventually become more active in a leadership role. She has been a member of Chi Sigma Iota for the past five years and is currently working to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
