- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2015 - Michael C. Steindorf Jr., Petroleum Engineering and Managing Consultant, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Looking to come out of retirement and get back into the oil and gas business, which he knows and loves, Mr. Steindorf started his consulting business in 1991 as another way to use his extensive knowledge and expertise in the petroleum engineering field. Upon graduating from Texas A&M University with a BS in Petroleum Engineering in 1958, Mr. Steindorf started working for The British-American Oil Producing Company in Midland, Texas as a Jr. Production Engineer. During the next eight years he was promoted to District Engineer and then to Field Superintendent. During this time his area of responsibility was West Texas and southeast New Mexico. British-American eventually merged into Gulf Oil Corporation. Wanting to get experience in other areas, he volunteered to relocate from Midland to Houma, Louisiana where Gulf needed an engineer. There, Mr. Steindorf served as Equipment Engineer designing production facilities and as a Production Foreman covering the Louisiana Gulf Coast. After two years in Houma he was sent to Buras, Louisiana where he worked Offshore in a very large gas field until August 1969 before moving on to his next venture.
Retired since 2002, Mr. Steindorf remains very active both physically and mentally. His wealth of knowledge that he brings to the table far exceeds most.
"I know that I can contribute my personality, expertise, and compatibility to help oil companies and other related businesses achieve their goals," Mr. Steindorf said. "I have proven problem solving skills with over 40 years of management experience in drilling, completions, production operations, workovers, waterfloods, reservoir and economic analysis, and acquisitions. I also have in-depth experience in the Gulf of Mexico, South Louisiana, the Texas Gulf Coast, Permian Basin, Mid-Continent, California, the Western Desert of Egypt, and Offshore Tunisia, including extensive experience in construction of major facilities, onshore and offshore, including production systems, pipelines, and platforms."
Mr. Steindorf has many years of experience in management and communication skills highlighted by documentation development, investigative analysis, motivational techniques, and oral/written presentations as well. Looking to help other companies in every way possible, Mr. Steindorf is ready to set the bar high and rediscover that sense of accomplishment the same way he did in the field, but this time as a consultant.
