Covington Who's Who Selects Marie Audette as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
Marie Audette, Dean of Postdoctoral and Graduate Studies at Laval University, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Marie Audette's commitment to excellence in Higher Education.
- (1888PressRelease) May 23, 2014 - Marie Audette, who holds a BSc in Cell Biology and a PhD in Biochemistry from Laval University, began working in biomedical research in 1988 after having spent three years in Switzerland as a postdoctoral fellow at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. She then became the director of the MSc and PhD programs in physiology in 2002 for Laval, only to become dean of the Faculty of graduate and postdoctoral studies in 2007.
As the current dean of graduate studies, Ms. Audette is responsible for the overall success and professional development of professors and the success of the students in her department. She also serves as the president of the Association of Graduate Deans of the Province of Quebec and as vice-president of the Canadian Association of Graduate Studies. She is also an active member of the Claude Lavoie Foundation, the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences, and the Association Francophone du Savoir.
"Being able to interact with students and professors from all discipline and understanding their specific need is challenging and rewarding," Ms. Audette said.
With aspirations of continuing to play an active role as dean, Ms. Audette would also like to contribute to the evolution of graduate studies at Laval, with new and innovative pathways.
