The selection recognizes Lianne Asbury's commitment to excellence in Hospitality.
Beginning her career in casino security in early 2006, Lianne Asbury sought out a position that would focus on her college coursework, which focused on criminal justice. Initially hired as an Opening Team Member with Security for the 1st Commonwealth Casino in Pennsylvania as a Lead Security Officer, Ms. Asbury was quickly promoted to a Security Supervisor just two weeks later. As she continued to challenge herself, she was able to secure another position in 2007 with another property as a Security Shift Manager before being promoted to her current position as the Director of Security at Mount Airy Casino Resort.
Responsible for asset protection, including protection for both employees and guests, as well as the property of Mount Airy Casino Resort, while adhering to the regulations set forth by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Ms. Asbury's security responsibilities also include maintaining compliance, Internal Controls, vigilance, due diligence, teamwork, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction at a Four Diamond AAA level and standard.
"My ability to commit to a team, follow through with responsibilities and complete tasks, challenge myself, and be driven all contribute to my work ethic," Ms. Asbury said. "My professional expertise also would not come without my educational background and compliment in criminal justice, human services, and forensic psychology, as the casino environment is a diverse population with much to take in, absorb, and learn from."
Born to an Italian immigrant father, Ms. Asbury is driven by his success in being able to provide for his family here in the US through hard work and sacrifice, as well has her mother's strict upbringing and motivation. Aspiring to pursue a PhD in criminology in the future, Ms. Asbury is fascinated by education, the field, and continuously achieving and succeeding in the industry. She also hopes to continue moving up the corporate ladder, possibly to Vice-President, in an Operations role, or someday as a General Manager.
Ms. Asbury holds an AAS in Applied Human Services, a BS in Human Services with a minor in Legal Studies, both from Pennsylvania College of Technology at Pennsylvania State University, and an MA in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University. She holds a Key License through the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and is a Certified American Heart Association Instruction since 2013. She is also an active member of ASPCA and Safety First, along with American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, and American Heart Disease, which are very close to her heart.
