Covington Who's Who Selects Lawrence G. Fink as an Executive of the Year Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
Lawrence G. Fink, Fire Fighter and Ex-Chief, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Lawrence G. Fink's commitment to excellence in Public Safety, Fire Fighting, and Fire Rescue.

Fink, a graduate of Bellport High School and Certified NY State Emergency Medical Technician for 24 years and Certified NY State Emergency Medical Technician Critical Care for 21 years, began his career in 1977 by following in his father's footsteps by joining the Brookhaven Fire Department.
Mr. Fink fought fires, attended numerous trainings, completed various courses such as Firefighter I and II, became active with the Fire Prevention Program, and moved up the line to lieutenant from 1982-83 where he became responsible for day to day operation of the apparatus. He also took over their Heavy Rescue Training, setting up policies, a structured training program and Safety Officers Program, served as captain from 1984-85, second assistant chief from 1986-87 and 2002-03, first assistant chief from 1988-1999 and 2005-2005, and as chief of the department from 1990-91 and 2006-07.
In addition, Mr. Fink was very familiar with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and the Safety Officer Standards during his career. He is the recipient of a 1993 Chief's Award, a 1990 Outstanding Service and Performance Recognition Award for Cardiac Arrest at Police Headquarters, and a 1981 Fireman of the Year Award.
Joining the Brookhaven Ambulance Company, Inc. (now South Country Ambulance Co.) in 1978, Mr. Fink received his certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1979 and Advance Emergency Medical Technician 1981. During his tenure he held the position of Training Officer, Crew Chief and Vice President. He also helped destine, specify, and build out the departments two way communication system and worked for New York City Emergency Medical Service as a Corpsman from 1981 to 1985.
"Living to serve my community and assist my brother firefighters has been a driving force for me," Mr. Fink said about his career in public safety. "The comradely with my brother and sister firefighters, not only locally but also worldwide, is a wondrous experience that words cannot explain."
Mr. Fink aspires to continue providing service and support to his local community and seek new challenges to address, including the management of a paid, fire service or managing an Emergency Operations Center in the near future.
