Covington Who's Who Selects Kathy Novik-Layer as a Professional Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes Kathy Novik-Layer's commitment to excellence in Automotive Service and Repair.
Novik-Layer, who has nearly twenty-five years experience in the automotive industry, began working on cars with her father as a teenager. She learned everything from taking apart and rebuilding cars, to fine tuning and rebuilding engines, transmissions, and rear ends. By the time she graduated from high school, she knew where she was headed.
Having studied automotive at the Automotive Training Center from 1997-99, Novik-Layer is certified in hybrid car repair, emission AC, state inspection, and as a platinum technician for Hyundai cars. As a technician for Hyundai, her primary responsibility is to repair cars with the use of the global diagnostic system when possible. She also writes up service work orders as the service writer in order to get as much information from the customer as possible to give to the technician to help them narrow down what the problems are.
"It's great to be surrounded by people that are secure with themselves and aren't afraid to teach and guide you," Novik-Layer said about her career.
Hoping to write an autobiography soon, Novik-Layer would also like to lecture and inspire women to work in any field they choose. She'd also love to rebuild her first car again just for fun.
Novik-Layer was named the first Hyundai platinum technician in the United States. She has also been featured in numerous local newspapers for her work.
