Covington Who's Who Selects Judy A. Vergason as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Vergason, Secretary for Benevolent and Protection Order of the Elks (BPOE), has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Judy A. Vergason's commitment to excellence in Non-Profit and Social Services.
Judy A. Vergason, who holds a BA in English from Maryville College and an MA in Pastoral Studies from St. Paul University, began in her career as a teacher at the age of twenty-one in 1962 as a Roman Catholic nun. She taught in various places in the US and Helsinki, Finland, spent time in Bolivia building irrigation ditches, spent time in Lima, Peru, and visited Russia and Israel. She taught grades 1-12, leaving the convent in 1985.
Now the secretary for BPOE for the past twelve years, Ms. Vergason basically serves as the organization's chief financial officer. She maintains the financials as well as their bookkeeping. She strives to work hard with perseverance and never gives up no matter how hard her day may be.
Inspired by her passed husband David and her father who only had the opportunity to earn a high school education, Ms. Vergason hopes to teach the younger generation about commitment and dedication, saying "It is not always self-gratification that should come first in one's life, but rather being able to look at yourself in the mirror and say 'well done'."
Ms. Vergason is a member of Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, and Frances Cabriai Catholic Church. She hopes to volunteer as much as possible and be the best secretary she possible can. This year, she and the lodge put together a back to school party for one-hundred needy children to furnish them with school supplies. Next year she hopes to invite two-hundred children.
Ms. Vergason is the author of a book entitled 'The Transparent Veil', published through Peppertree Press.
