- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) November 21, 2015 - John N. Boucher, President of Thermocarbon, Inc., has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Growing up in New Jersey, John N. Boucher enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1968-72 before working toward his Associate's Degree in Applied Science and beginning his own business. Formed in 1978 out of his home, Thermocarbon, a manufacturing business, was soon relocated just two years later to central Florida to build his first facility. It was there that Mr. Boucher also worked toward his Master's Degree in Business Administration at Rollins College, where they waved the requirement for a bachelor's degree due to his business experience gained from forming his business. He graduating in 1984.
Expanding twice more, once in 1990 and once in 1995, Thermocarbon is now a leader in dicing and precision diamond grinding technology. For more than 30 years now, the company, which manufactures diamond blades that cut microelectronic circuits, miniature optic lenses, and electronic components, has been striving to make customers' dicing process the most efficient and cost effective.
As President of the company, Mr. Boucher's number one priority is the customer. Direct customer contact for technical support is directed by him, as well as the actual design of the product matrices. He also handles critical processes and research and development, which is essential in keeping Thermocarbon ahead of industry trends and new applications within the high tech industry in which they serve. Another important role of his includes handling everyday office responsibilities, making sure their profit and loss statements are up to date daily so that he can keep an eye on sales, invoicing, payroll, and backlog data, which allows him to make decisions regarding purchases and investments.
"Being stationed on a submarine and living in very close quarters for almost four years had shown me the necessity of solid team work as the only way to succeed," Mr. Boucher said. "I've seen how we must depend on every single individual to succeed and I apply this experience to my company today."
Also attributing his chemical industry experience designing and rating heat exchangers to helping him develop his analytical mind, Mr. Boucher has also learned how to run a business successfully by first working for a small company that exposed him to the many facets of what it takes to lead a team, work well with customers, and solve problems to increase efficiency.
In 1988, Mr. Boucher earned a Partnership Award from Corning Glass Works. It was the first time the company ever gave an award to a vendor rather than a customer of theirs, making Mr. Boucher and his team quite honored.
Although he is now at retirement age, Mr. Boucher is not quite ready to leave the business just yet. Enjoying the day to day stresses of owning his own business, although it can often be overwhelming at times, he loves to tackle and solve problems and couldn't imagine doing anything else.
