Covington Who's Who Selects John Lanier Burns Sr. as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2015 - John Lanier Burns Sr., Research Professor at Dallas Seminary, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Boasting over 20 years of doctoral study and ground-level experience, John Lanier Burns Sr. began teaching. As a professor of humanities, he teaches classes and seminars to graduate students at Dallas Seminary.
"I think that a large amount of knowledge brings wisdom about different issues," Mr. Burns said in relation to his success in education. "The ability to understand and work with people is equally important. We constantly negotiate on a daily basis to gain mutual understanding and a number of people do not care to invest in this effort and end up suffering for it."
Mr. Burns' students are a constant source of encouragement for him to continue doing what he does best. His relationships with them are extremely important. Hoping to continue teaching for as long as possible, Mr. Burns is continuously trying to bridge the polarization that has occurred between leadership and the public.
Earning numerous accolades over the years for his teaching, including a Teaching Excellence Award and an Award for Teaching Excellence, Mr. Burns and his wife were named to a library and research center in Tamil Nadu, India by Asian Christian Academy. An active member of Society for Neuroscience and American Council of the Asian Christian Academy, Mr. Burns' also authored his first book, called 'The Nearness of God Presbyterian Reformed' in 2009. Serving the US Army from 1966-68, Mr. Burns retired as a Captain.
