Haluck, Chemistry and Physics Instructor at the Boys Latin School of Maryland, has been selected as a Professional Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes James L. Haluck's commitment to excellence in Education.
James L. Haluck, who holds an Associate's Degree in Chemical Technology from Forbes Trail Technical School and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from California State College, began teaching in the fall of 1973 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He's been teaching for just over forty years now.
As an educator, Mr. Haluck is responsible for implementing a science course curriculum, which involves securing materials, textbooks, and lab experiences that will be assembled into a cogent format for students to use. Teaching, assessing students, and planning lessons in chemistry and physics, Mr. Haluck has taught in a variety of different types of schools, and will be providing an opportunity for the utilization of eportofolios and blogs to further enrich curriculum and teacher/student interaction for the 2013 school year.
"Due to an accident, my little brother had learning difficulties," Mr. Haluck noted about his beginning desires to teach. "I worked with him to help him feel success in elementary school while I was a young teen."
Mr. Haluck earned numerous awards throughout his career, including the Anne Arundel County Teacher of the Year Award and an Anne Arundel County Recognition of Support of Student Research in Science, both in 2001, an Anne Arundel County Excellence in Education Award in 2003, and a Class Nobel Educator of Distinction Award from the National Honor Society of High School Scholars in 2012.
