Covington Who's Who Selects Gervase Mackay as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2014 - Gervase Mackay, President and Chief Executive Officer of Unisearch Associates, Inc., has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Gervase Mackay began working as a research associate at York University in Toronto, Canada in 1980 when he decided to join his supervisor, two other York faculty members, and a small geo-physical instrument company in the formation of Unisearch Associates, Inc. Initially the head of research and development and later as VP and secretary, Mr. Mackay is now serving as the organization's president and CEO.
Dealing with day-to-day operations of the business, Mr. Mackay oversees operations, sales, and marketing. In addition, he spends about half of his work day actively involved with the company R&D, which includes project management and hands-on activities.
"I intend to help Unisearch continue to be a world leader in the application of spectroscopic techniques for trace gas measurement, assisting both industry and government agencies improve their processes/understanding of the requirements and restrictions in improving the general air quality and hopefully minimizing the impact of new technologies on the environment," Mr. Mackay said.
Mr. Mackay's background includes having a PhD in Physical Chemistry and the study of kinetics using mass spectrometry early in his career. Subsequently, he has been active for many years in the study of chemical processes in the atmosphere, including their effects on air quality, providing measurement data for the modelers working to understand the processes and predict the outcomes of mitigation strategies.
Boasting over 100 publications in refereed journals and conference presentations, Mr. Mackay has also assisted in the writing of several chapters in scientific manuscripts and holds several patents in his field.
