- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) May 06, 2015 - Gerald H. Caldwell, Retired Branch Manager for First National Bank of Oregon, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Reentering the business world after being discharged from the active duty as a Specialist E-5 in the US Army, Gerald H. Caldwell found employment opportunity in the local banking industry. First hired as a general ledger bookkeeper, he advanced to a teller in branch operations, then as a loan officer, then branch manager. Changing banks, he took on the role of personnel officer.
"The leadership and discipline I learned in the military, coupled with my ability to converse with people, contributed greatly to my success," Mr. Caldwell said.
Mr. Caldwell's education in banking and finance also attributed to his advancement in the banking industry. Earning an Associate's Degree in Banking and Finance from Portland Community College, he used his knowledge to continuously advance through the ranks.
At the age of 75, Mr. Caldwell is enjoying his retirement and plans to do a lot more traveling in the future. He is an active member of Oregon Historical Society, Lions International, and American Legion, and is a former reserve deputy sheriff from 1978-82.
