Covington Who's Who Selects George Chaux as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes George Chaux's commitment to excellence in Healthcare.
Chaux, who holds an MD from Boston University, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College in 1986. He completed his residency in 1997 at the University of California at San Diego.
The board certified pulmonologist and intensivist began his career in 1997 and he has worked as a medical director for the lung transplant program at his institution since 1998. He was promoted to associate professor of medicine this year.
As a current medical director for the lung and heart-lung transplantation, Chaux's responsibilities include managing the day to day administrative duties of the program, evaluating potential candidates for lung transplantation, and caring for those patients from the time they are transplanted.
Inspired by his father who was a cardiac surgeon and by numerous mentors in his field, Chaux's expertise lie in transplant medicine, interventional pulmonology, and critical care medicine.
Hoping to grow the lung transplant program that he is working on to become one of the busiest and most successful programs in lung transplantation in the country, Chaux is optimistic for the future of the program. He is a current member of American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, California Thoracic Society, and International Society for Heart Lung Transplantation. He has also co-authored a book, titled, Medical Management of the Thoracic Surgical Patient.
