Covington Who's Who Selects Gale Coleman as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Huntsville, AL (1888PressRelease) July 03, 2012 - Gale Coleman, Dietitian for Redstone Village Retirement Center, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Gale Coleman's commitment to excellence in Long-Term Healthcare.
Coleman, who earned her BS Degree in Nutrition and Diet Therapy from Samford University in 1988 and has completed numerous master level courses in the nutrition field at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, began her career as a dietitian and food service director at Mount Royal Towers in Birmingham, Alabama. She has since worked with the elderly population in long-term care for the past twenty-four years.
In her current role, Coleman assesses nutritional requirements/needs of her patients, evaluates the entire medical record of patients, and places a nutritional intervention in place to better residents' overall health. She also maintains health/state/federal guidelines within the dietary department, trains staff, and implements and develops policies and procedures.
"I have always enjoyed helping others and working with the elderly population, assessing their nutritional needs," Coleman said about working in long-term care.
Coleman is also certified through the Dietary Managers Association as a Certified Dietary Manager and Certified Food Protection Professional. She hopes to soon complete her graduate studies and obtain her master's degree. She is a current member of American Dietetic Association, Alabama Association of Nutrition and Foodservice, and Dietary Managers Association.
