Hausheer, who holds a BS in Biology from Graceland University, a MS in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Illinois, and an MD from the University of Missouri Medical School at Columbia, is board certified in internal medicine through the American Board of Medicine since 1985, and is also board certified in medical oncology through the American Society of Medical Oncology since 1987. He began practicing medicine 22 years ago.
Now the founder, chairman, and CEO of a cancer focused oncology research and development company, BioNumerik, Dr. Hausheer leads, manages, and builds teams for cost-effective cancer drug discovery and development. His education and training in medicine, physiology, biophysics, pharmacology, high performance computing, and international cancer drug development all contribute to the success of his company since its inception in 1992.
Dr. Hausheer's biggest inspiration is in taking care of patients with incurable, advanced cancer, and hopes to continue to successfully research and make advances in the care of cancer patients worldwide.

Some of his accolades include two American Cancer Society Clinical Fellowship Awards at John Hopkins University, a National Scientific Research Award, also from John Hopkins, as well as a Smithsonian-Computerworld Award for Breakthrough Science in Medicine and a Forefronts of Large Scale Computing Award granted at the Supercomputing International Conference.
