Covington Who's Who Selects Felica Chapline as a Professional of the Year Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Baltimore, MD (1888PressRelease) February 01, 2013 - Felica Chapline, Master Gardener at Embassy of Australia, has been selected as a Professional of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Felica Chapline became interested in gardening at the age of twenty-one working at a local nursery pulling weeds. She soon learned landscape, stone, and pond installations. A few years later, she started her own business with a main focus on large estates and residential properties. She also ran a greenhouse with over twelve thousand roses for cut flower production and was manager of the one hundred ten year old business.
Now the master gardener for the Ambassador of Australia, Chapline takes care of the grounds, is in charge of making sure it looks impeccable for events, and does whatever else is requested, such as new installations and suggestions for better use of some of the spaces on the grounds.
"I believe in motivation," Chapline said about her career. "Many people told me I couldn't do it. I wanted to prove them wrong and I did."
Admitting that her work, her garden, is a form of "therapy", her "medicine cabinet", Chapline truly loves what she does. She hopes to begin teaching the community on how to successfully grow organic edibles in the space they have, how to make it fun, and learn the importance of local farmers, produce, and culture.
Chapline became a master gardener through the University of Maryland. She has had some her work published several times over the last decade, including an anonymous inclusion in a book entitled 'Diplomatic Gardens of DC'.
