Covington Who's Who Selects Dr. Lawrence S. Lipkin as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Lipkin, Retired Doctor and Associate Professor Emeritus at Temple University, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Lawrence S. Lipkin's commitment to excellence in Dentistry and Higher Education.
Dr. Lawrence S. Lipkin, who holds a DDS from Temple University since 1959, was a member of the Frederick James Society of Clinical Pathology and the John A. Kolmer Honorary Medical Society. After graduation, he served two years in the Army Dental Corps, attaining rank of captain, before beginning his dental career in private practice in Washington Township, New Jersey.
Founded in 1961, Dr. Lipkin's private practice became a group practice in 1969. In 1986, he became a member of the faculty of Temple University School of Dentistry. Working his way up to associate professor, his specialty was in prosthodontics, although from 1999-2002 he was appointed to director of academic support services, which enabled him to help many students reach their requirements for graduation. He was also able to put an honor code in place, was in charge of the National Boards, and the Northeast Regional exam for seniors.
"I have always had a strong feeling for my patients and students, plus a strong family and loving, caring wife to support me, who has been the backbone in my life and career," Dr. Lipkin said, who has since retired in 2009 due to health problems.
Dr. Lipkin is a former charter member of the local Rotary Club, served as club president in 1974, and a few years later became a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary. He served as faculty president at Temple Dental in 2004. He received four Faculty of the Year awards, a Man of the Year award, and a yearbook dedication from Temple Dental as well. Dr. Lipkin was published in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry twice, and in Dental Management Journal once. He has been married to his wife Barbara for 56 years and they have three children and seven grandchildren.
