Covington Who's Who Selects Dr. Craig Karson as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
The selection recognizes Craig Karson's commitment to excellence in Medical Consulting.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2014 - Craig Karson, Founder, Medical Researcher, and Consultant for CNK Pharmaceutical Consultants, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Craig Karson, a Board Certified Psychiatrist of over 30 years, has focused his career on neuroscience of serious mental illness, specifically in academia. Shifting his skills to the pharmaceutical industry just over 10 years ago, it is his hopes to be able to more directly benefit patients with serious psychiatric diseases.
As founder of his organization, CNK Pharmaceutical Consultants, Dr. Karson helps companies maximize the patient benefit of their neuropsychiatric medications, while also benefiting commercial profiles as well.
"I wanted to become a physician for as early as I can remember," Dr. Karson said. "In my training, I became fascinated by the question of how the brain works. Now, I simply want to do what I can to help patients suffering from serious mental illness."
Dr. Karson earned his BS in Microbiology and MD from the University of Michigan. Completing his residency in psychiatry at University of Oregon for the Health Sciences from 1975-78, he then completed an NIH intramural fellowship program in neuropsychiatry. Translating this strong base of scientific training to an academic career, he successfully competed for federal grants and high level positions in academia, including becoming a professor of medicine at Harvard University. Dr. Karson's experiences in PHARMA and expertise lie in both clinical development and medical affairs.
Hoping to see CNK expand and profit by helping other companies add value to products that help in the fight against mental illness, Dr. Karson is putting all of his energy into brand recognition. Currently, CNK has been working mainly with large PHARMA, with the hopes of branching out to smaller, more innovative biotech companies, too.
A member of American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, Dr. Karson is also a member and distinguished fellow of American Psychiatric Association. Included in the 1992-93 edition of 'Best Doctors of America', he was also named Successful Change Agent in 2000 by the Veterans Administration.
